Melted Crayon Art

Everyone has that container of old crayons lying around the house somewhere. Why don't you put them to good use? Instead of coloring in between the lines, why not try something wild and out there!? Take your old used and worn down crayons and hot glue them to either canvas, poster board or foam core and create a melted crayon masterpiece!
Not only is this a great activity to do with kids or friends, but each piece is unique and different every time you make it. Instead of buying a piece of abstract art, save yourself 300 dollars and make your own!

What you'll need:

1 |    piece of poster board
1 |    64-box of crayons (or however many you'd like!)
     1 |    hot glue gun
10+|    hot glue sticks (too many is better than running out!)
     1 |    blow dryer

Directions:

1. Take each crayon, and unwrap them OR place all crayons in a bowl of water to save time and energy unwrapping individual crayons!
2. Arrange your crayons in desired pattern (*remember that colors that are similar blend together when melted*)
3. Center the crayons and individually melt them to your poster board.
4. Turn your hair dryer on high-heat and melt away! Watch out for hot wax!
5. Display in a shadow box or hang on a wall for everyone to see!

Enjoy!
